The Urasenke Tradition of Tea goes back hundreds of years and holds the motto, “Peacefulness through a bowl of tea.” Chado Urasenke Tankokai Chicago Association strives to uphold this idea by introducing Chanoyu (commonly known as the Japanese Tea Ceremony) to others while deepen our own knowledge of through practice and study.

Our Urasenke certified instructors conduct weekly classes and host periodic tea gatherings in their own home or studios. These teachers and their students form the core of Chado Urasenke Tankokai Chicago Association.

Together, association members host and participate in public chanoyu presentations and Japanese cultural events in the Chicagoland area.
